PLANS Archer Point War College is the biggest deal. That and creating a sizeable port for trade and controlling access to the two rivers that straddle his spire. There will also be a large field for lacross and chocobo racing, mostly to air lacross across the lockets and have Chocobo World Cup with Lumina co-hosting. Even though they were supposed to be sneaking, Archer looked at Saber in his Archer way. But without the lecherous eyes. That was distinctly missing. No, it was more a look of what the hell they were doing. Well, Archer knew exactly what it was and it was awesome. His problem is what would happen if he had to kill an animal, which he didn't want to. Not at all. Seriously, what was even the point of killing animals because they were awesome.

"Just to be clear, we're not hurting anything. Like, what do they call that? Unsportsmanlike. Or unsportswomanlike in your case. Look we just jump in, grab it, and drag it out."

Saber probably had a lot more experience in this than Archer did and Saber may be the King of Knights but Archer was the King of Improv After Failure. And that's exactly what he planned on doing since he had no idea how to actually properly do this. These animals were freaking huge. Which meant when Archer was successful, it'd be that much more awesome.

Saber crouched underneath the foliage, allowing her short stature to hide her well as they looked over the beasts ahead. She was primed and ready for this... which meant when Archer did his littler protest, Saber actually rolled her eyes.

"There's no challenge in killing them," she replied.

"Well, duh. I wouldn't actually be here if we were killing them. I'd probably be at home crying my eyes out. Think of the family and life they have!"

Which he doesn't mind stealing them away from, oddly enough. Just completely removing them from existence is the issue. Despite the fact that he loves his super high quality beef meals.

"Do you cry every time you eat a steak or eat other kind of meat?"

But Saber didn't really give Archer enough time to answer, though he probably would anyways. She pointed to the beasts.

"The male will be the biggest challenge, but he will also be the most violent back at your Spire." Which was more important, Archer - badass beast or non-dead Spire residents?

"No, because I buy them at the supermarket. Where normal people get their food!"

Archer is MAKING the time. On the other hand, that animal is entirely badass. Who cares if it's violent, he'll just make it not violent. It's a plan that will totally work and not mess up at all.

"I'll take care of whatever happens later. Right now, that thing is pretty much the most badass, awesome beast in existence. I bet it could kill a crocodile."

"...do you honestly not know where the markets get their meat from?" Every time Saber started to think Archer might actually have some level of bizarre genius, he said something so stupidly ignorant.

Anyways. Back to the monster.

"So, outline our plan of attack."

"Okay, you're going to jump out and do your thing. When he looks at you, I'll run over, jump on its back, and improvise."

Hold on while he pulls out a flask and takes a swig. Not for liquid courage but he just felt like he needed to even out his alcohol content.

"That seems legitimate enough. Like Helmuth von Moltke said, no battle plan survives contact with the enemy. So who needs one?"

Saber just Looked at Archer for a very long moment in response to his 'battle plan'.

"...and what is my 'thing', Archer?" Really, what was her supposed thing?

"Pft."

"Pfhahaha."

"Certainly not a-hahaha-dick. Hahaha. Get it? Thing?" His laugh just keeps going. It's hard to keep it quiet.

"..."

Never, in a million billion years, was Saber ever going to let Archer know that she had sort of, maybe had one at some point. That was a conversation she intended on having with absolutely no one. Aside from the fact that it made her uncomfortable to think back on, she didn't want anyone getting... ideas.

"You have a childish sense of humor." Anyways. "But prepare yourself to 'Archer' this beast."

And with a shake of her head, Saber crept out of the brush and quietly circled about so she was nearer the male than the others. And then she darted forward to get the beast's attention. Which just lead to her catching his jaws and holding them firmly when he tried to eat her.

That was certainly a thing. An impressive one, at that, if Archer was actually paying attention. Which he really wasn't, sadly. No offense to Saber, he was just too self involved. Namely involved with...

"Woooooooooooooooooooooo!"

A loud warshout from Archer as he leapt up on it's back, latching his arms into its fur quite tightly.

Ugh, this thing had horrible breath. What did it eat? Saber leaned her head back a bit to get away from the tongue that tried to get to her since she was keeping the teeth from biting her in half.

And then Archer was on its back and the beast tried to buck him off. Which wasn't exactly something he could do with Saber holding onto it's mouth. But the king realized if she kept her grip as it was, there was a good chance she might... accidentally rip its jaw off. And then Archer would cry.

Saber didn't want to deal with a crying Archer, and if the beast died she would have failed at this task of capturing the monsters alive. That wasn't going to happen. Not with the harp's music in her ears. Like hell she was going to lose.

So she let go of the beast's jaw and slammed his head down into the ground to hopefully knock him out. It also ended up aiding it in the attempt to throw Archer from his back.

Oops.

If Saber had never witnessed pure, innocent joy, she certainly was right now. Archer was laughing loudly. Not maniacally, or even pervertedly, as he was oft to do. No, it was more like the laughter of a child as he clung tightly to the creature's neck.

Nor did it change as he was sent flying, only to slam into a tree. It was fine though, Archer's body was completely and utterly used to this kind of treatment. After a loud whoop of joy, regardless of whether the creature was knocked out or not, Archer had a single thing to say.

"That. Was. Awesooooooooooooooooooooooome!!!"

Saber hadn't seen joy like that since before she was king, while she was still Kay's squire, watching the children play their games while the two of them were on the road. She certainly had never seen it on the face of a grown man.

But then again... Saber reacted her own way when it came to lions, so she didn't exactly fault him. It was just odd to see, though not as alarming as watching Archer hit the tree. A glance at the beast showed it groggy, so she gave it another slam on the ground to fully knock it out before turning to Archer.

"Are you alright?"

"Am I alright? Dude, that was so awesome! When can we do it again?"

An absolutely legit question. Well, beyond the obvious of getting this creature into a cage and shipped back to Archer Point. Still, Archer had to rub the back of his head. Even he wasn't immune to some pain and he was desperately wishing for some ibuprofen, glad the endorphins were overriding most of the pain that came from slamming against objects.

"You have not had enough yet?"

Saber chuckled and, since Archer looked relatively okay, grabbed the unconscious beast and hefted it up as if it weighed nothing to her. Sure, she had to drag it because of her short stature, but it was well in hand. She began taking it toward the cage.

"Uh, are you like some kind of mobile bulldozer?"

Because, lord. Skipping her question because the answer was entirely obvious. What was more important was the fact that she was carrying a beast that was probably about or more than a ton in weight without even sweating.

"I do not know what a bulldozer is," Saber replied, still carrying the beast toward the cage with ease.

"Will you open the cage?"

"You can't just kick it open?" Truly the most gentlemanly gentleman. Which he kind of does kick it open because he doesn't want to be kicked later. And learn what a freaking bulldozer is, god.

"I would rather not break the cage by kicking it, Archer."

Come on, if she can haul the monster like it was nothing, what did he think her kick would do? Though considering he did open it enough, maybe he had enough sense that it would just be better. So, into the cage Saber put the beast, adjusting it so when it woke it would be oriented properly.

And then the cage was closed and locked.

"Learn to control yourself, She-Hulk!"

God. At least she put the big guy in. Archer looks inside the cage with a fascination that is certainly earlier than his age, like earlier. He is way too stoked about this.

July 2071: Lumina's Quest.

[Lumina appeared in a swirl of chaos near Archer's spire, then grabbed a couple of the passing imps and pestered them into taking her to where the local baron was. When she found him, she couldn't help but grin as she waved.]

Hey, Archer! How's everyone's favorite baron today?

[Yes,she wants something.]

.....I'm almost scared to ask what you want. Just because my ego is reasonably large doesn't mean I don't know when someone is sucking up.

And look at that! [She smirks.] Already proving my assumptions about you wrong. How impressive!

[She really could lay it on, even when she was being snide.]

But yeah, I kind of need a favor. Sort of a big favor? But not really anything you have to do yourself. Personally.

Before I agree to anything, we need to start talking about what the hell you're actually going to ask.

[Lumina made a 'tct' sound and rolled her eyes, turning to start pacing slowly across the room, her arms swinging at her side.]

Okay, you know how the jabberwhelp was killed at the station? Did you hear about the other one?

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Back up.

Uh huh. I was unconscious when it happened, but apparently when she died, another one woke up. Her dad!

[She gestures grandly as she speaks.]

You know those hills north of the station? They're gone! He was under them, I think, and he's so big he destroyed them taking off!

Did you say dad? Do you realize how pissed off he probably is? If I ever had a kid, not saying that I do, I'd pretty much ruin anyone who killed my kid.

[Lumina just smirks at that, throwing her arms out to either side as she twirls in a circle.]

I know!

[And back to facing him.]

That's why I'm gonna find him.

Iiiiiii figured. [Her grin got all the wider, and she turned, pacing along again, pointing a finger in the air as if to accentuate what she was saying.]

Morla told me that he's hiding either deep underground, or deep in the ocean. I've got Lev...that's the Outsider...doing his sea king thing to talk to all the big sea animals to try and track him down, but covering the land is so much harder.

[She reached the end of her pace and twisted around, starting back.]

So I figure, between the imps that love hanging around here and your spire people, you could probably cover a ton of ground. Looking for...I don't know...big holes, maybe. In caves. Underground stuff.

[Lumina knows next to nothing about 'underground stuff.']
