PERSONALITY:
It should be stated here at the beginning that Archer is an unrepentant asshole. No, he doesn’t have some kind of awful past to make up for aside the fact that his mother was negligent and abusive. The level his assholishness resides at means even that isn't an excuse for him. He’s incredibly self-centered and egotistical and always in want of sex with other women. No matter the situation, it’s always a ‘me first’ issue and everyone else ranks in at a distant second. A very distant second. Far enough away that he doesn’t even care about them. For example, he doesn’t even consider his butler, Woodhouse, a person. Archer treats him like an animal. Actually he treats animals better than Woodhouse. Most conversations with Woodhouse goes as follows, "Is that sarcasm? Because your opinion matters! And since you seem unclear on the concept, that was sarcasm." Speaking of his mother, he has some serious mother issues. They run incredibly deep and he both intensely hates and weirdly loves his mother.
All that said, Archer is incredibly brave and skilled. There is no mission out there that he is too scared to complete. Heck, he doesn’t even need to resort to sneaking. Archer performs best when under fire. Of course, the firefight started after he rudely alerted guards by loudly arguing with any one of his co-workers who accompanied him on a mission. Despite all that, he has constantly outperformed and outwitted the world’s best soldiers during his missions and he always gets satisfactory results. Even when the results work against him. Also, despite his bravery, he has three fears which render him rather helpless: Alligators, crocodiles, and brain aneurysms.
Archer describes himself as a high functioning alcoholic and is mostly likely addicted to alcohol. He is almost always drinking and is sometimes wildly drunk. Thankfully, he seems to be able to handle his alcohol to the point that he’s rarely ever inebriated. When asked if he'll stop drinking, he says, "I'm scared that if I stop all at once, the cumulative hangover will literally kill me." Archer also says that he has mild PTSD which he deals with by drinking so he has more than a few issues that is rarely ever touched on. Also, after dealing with multiple instances of Archer winning encounters by being able to count bullet shots in a gunfight and knowing the exact gun someone is using by the sound it makes, the rest of the cast wonder if Archer has autism. Archer never actually is diagnosed but seeing that he can empathize with animals better than most people and all his previous traits, he figures everyone is probably right.
But that doesn’t mean Archer is incapable of empathizing with people. When he thought he was going to die of breast cancer, he actually apologized to everyone for his atrocious behavior and sort of tried to go out of the way to make up for it. Another time, when with 3 of his co-workers, they were in a situation where one had to drown. After figuring out that Lana, his one co-worker, was pregnant with a child, Archer decided that he was to be the one to stay behind and drown. Not that he actually did but it showed a surprising amount of empathy from him, which had never happened before. That said, he still regularly gets along with animals better. He cries at their misfortune, does what he can to make their life better, and holds one-sided conversations with them. After seeing the living conditions of a bobcat, he says, "On the way, we got to stop at a toy store and at least get him a stuffed animal. Something. It's like....Meowswitz in there." Alligators and crocodiles don’t count, of course.
That does leave the question about how he feels about most of his coworkers. Cyril, for one, Archer sees as a loser desk jockey who, for some reason, got promoted to field agent. He has an extreme lack of respect for him and never hesitates to get in some kind of shot against him. Actually, that goes for most of everyone, including both Cheryl and Pam. Possibly worse for Pam, whom he uses just for good sex but insults her about her weight constantly. Most important to mention is Lana. Lana used to be Archer's girlfriend and they work together on a frequent basis. And after they broke up, they fight together on a very frequent basis. They're both ridiculously attracted to each other still but have clashing personalities so both of them tend to be the brunt of 'get a bedroom' jokes, even after they both moved on to other partners. He says quite a few things to back this up, one of them being, "You know what's dangerous? Your obsession with me. Seriously, Lana, call Kenny Loggins because you're in the Danger Zone."
COURT ALLIANCE & REASONING:
I chose Unseelie.
Fundamentally, this was a very difficult choice. Much like you have the idea of the path to evil is paved with good intentions, a person can desire order but make everything else chaotic in the process. Archer likes things done in a certain way and either gets annoyed or angry when they aren’t. Ultimately, I feel that this is more a flaw of his self-centered personality. The fact that he screws things up for everyone else to give himself a proper outcome is what makes me think he’s a better choice in Unseelie.
That and the part of the code “Passion before duty” is going to be a big deal for Archer. He does what he can to combine passion and duty but he is a man who has completely abandoned his place of work and ‘friends’ for months at a time for the sake of himself. There are simply things he loves doing and will do them, no matter what.
ABILITIES: Nada. Archer is a normal human. Unless being excessively good at pissing off people is a super power.
Seriously though, Archer is ridiculously competent in combat and infiltration. He seems to be able to use most of any weapon he puts his hands on with a high level of skill. That and his marksmanship is on a whole new level.
Also, Archer is insanely good at lacrosse.
INVENTORY:
A Walther PPK. Which is a pistol. (disabled outside of the station)
A TACTICAL TURTLENECK. Also known as a Tactineck. (should be disabled for how AWESOME it is but not)
Oh yeah, his other clothes.
